About Scan to Word

A scanner saves your paper as a picture, which means you cannot change a single word. Scan to Word fixes that. Upload the scanned image and the AI reads it and gives you an editable Word document, free and without registration.

Use it for office papers, application forms, certificates, old typed records or anything else that only exists as a scan. Stamps, signatures and QR codes can stay in their place as images, while the printed text around them becomes normal Word text.

How to use Scan to Word

  1. Upload your scanned pages as JPG, PNG or another image file.
  2. Choose whether stamps, signatures and other images stay in place.
  3. Download the editable Word version of your scan.

Frequently asked questions

Can I edit a scanned document in Word?

Not directly, because a scan is an image. Convert it here first, then open the .docx in Word and edit it.

Will the signature on my scanned certificate be kept?

Yes, if you keep images in place. The signature stays as a picture and is not turned into text.

What scan settings work best?

Scan the page flat, straight and in good quality. A clean, sharp scan makes the text easier to read.

Can it read scanned forms in Urdu or Arabic?

Yes. It reads English, Urdu and Arabic, including pages that mix them.

Are my scanned documents saved?

Each scan is passed to PDF Hydra's AI service for reading. PDF Hydra does not store your scanned pages.
